If you need to cut or trim a product using a knife when working on meat processing or farming, learn how to use it safely without injury.
육류가공 또는 농장 등에서 작업시 칼을 사용하여 생산품을 자르거나 트림을 하여야 할 경우 부상을 당하지 않고 안전하게 사용하는 방법에 대해 알아본다.
All workers must read and understand
the following policy.
모든 근로자는 다음 정책을 읽고 이해하여야 한다.
To
avoid injury when sharpening and using knives:
칼을 갈거나 사용하면서 부상을 피하기 위해 준수해야 할 사항들:
1.When
using a sharpening stone, make sure the stone is on a slip-proof, flat surface.
숫돌을 사용하여 칼을 가는 경우, 평평하고 미끄럽지 않은 곳에 둔다.
2.When
using a stone, always keep your free hand away from the stone and knife.
숫돌을 사용 시, 돌과 칼로부터 거리를 유지하여 손을 베이지 않게 한다
3.Make
sure your steel has a safety guard between the handle and the body of the steel.
스틸도구에 안전 가드가 부착 되어 있는지 확인 한다.
4.When
using a grindstone, make sure the rotation of the stone and the cutting edge of
the blade are away from your body.
숫돌을 사용하는 경우, 돌의 회전 및 블레이드(칼날)와 내 몸의 간격을 잘 확인 한다.
5.If
you drop your knife, let it fall, don't try to catch it.
칼이 떨어질 경우에는 잡으려 들지 말고 그대로 떨어지게 둔다.
6.Always place your knife in the scabbard or pouch when not in use - It should not be left laying around on benches or in hand basins, etc.
사용하지 않는 칼은 항상 주머니/칼집에 보관 한다 -작업대 나 세면대 등의 주위에 두지 않는다.
7.Always
use a sharp knife as you will need to use more force with a blunt knife and
will have less control.
무딘 칼날은 더 많은 힘을 사용하게 되어 부상의 위험이 있으므로 항상 칼날을 날카롭게 유지 한다.
8.If
you must look away, stop cutting – never take your eyes off the cutting path of
the knife.
만약 작업대에서 시선을 옮기는 경우에는 칼 사용을 중단 한다. - 칼 사용시 시선은 항상 칼에다 유지한다.
9.Never
cut towards yourself or towards another individual.
절대로 칼질을 내 몸 방향 혹은 타인을
향해 하지 않는다.
10.Always
be aware of the movement of people around you.
항상 주위 사람들의 움직임을 인식한다.
11.Never
fool around with a knife in your hand or fool around with others who may have a
knife in their hand.
칼을 가지고 있을 때에는 언제나 안전에 신경을 쓰며
주변사람들과 장난 치는 행동을 하지 않는다.
12.Always
keep the handle of the knife clean and free of fat and grease.
칼은 항상 깨끗이 유지 하며 지방이나 기름기를 제거토록한다.
13.Always
use mesh or cut resistant gloves as required in the work instructions.
작업시에는 항상 메시 글러브, 즉 철로된 보호 장갑 및 작업 지침에 따른 안전 장비를 착용 한다.
14.Make
sure when transporting knives around site they are in their pouch. (No steeling
while walking)
작업 장소 주변으로 이동할 시에는 칼을
칼집에 넣었는지 확인한다.

도구를 손에 든 채 이동하지 않는다)
You should not get injured enough to learn how to use the knife safely.
칼 안전하게 사용하기 방법을 충분히 익혀 부상을 당하지 않아야 할 것이다.
